Paris Fashion Week,
Best Experienced Close Up

3 June 2016 By Stéphanie Hajjar

When it comes to fashion, Paris Fashion Week is the show of all shows.

Pure grandeur, glamor and spectacle.

For 10 days, editors, photographers, models, bloggers, and the world’s leading fashion designers descend on Paris.

Paris Fashion Week Runway

It’s a luxurious festival of runways presenting the world’s finest fashion.

Paris Fashion Week pulls in the powerhouses of fashion from around the globe. For fashion enthusiasts, it’s mecca. For industry professionals, it’s a must. For anyone who loves a fabulous show, too, it is perfection.

All eyes fall on what Paris is wearing.

Everyone who is “anyone” in the world of fashion flocks to Paris. The greatest names in entertainment, too, can be seen at the major events in the City of Light.

Paris Fashion Week Runway

Paris becomes the fashion home to the likes of Kirsten Steward, Selena Gomez, Jaden Smith, Parrell Williams, Paul McCartney, Jennifer Connelly, Lea Seydoux, Alicia Vikander, Ciara, Kanye West, Jessica Alba, and many more.

What better place for Zoolander and Hansel to launch their latest installment, with Valentino!

More than a week of fashion in Paris

True, it is called Paris Fashion “Week”. But that’s a little misleading.

Paris Fashion Week is, in fact, not an affair of just “one week”. Two major events are the highlights of any given year of fashion in Paris.

There is a fashion week for designers to present their spring / summer season collections. There is another to present their creations for the autumn / winter seasons. Then there’s a whole range of other events, like a special Fashion Week for Men’s Fashion.

During those fabulous events, Paris presents the finest collections of ready-to-wear and haute couture fashion to the world. Chic trends in fashion are set with the flash of photographers, the ink of fashion journalists, and the blog posts of fashionistas from around the globe.

The events are held in many different locations across the city. The most “over-the-top” runways are held in iconic buildings, like the Grand Palais.

The most impressive runways display the pure showmanship of great creators, like Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel.

There’s plenty of buzz around the top fashion labels, of course. Chanel, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Hermés, Céline, Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, and more, are the iconic brands which gain the larger slice of the frenzied media attention. Their exuberant shows are second to none.

But it’s not only the great shows which attract attention. Sumptuous “after parties” are also a huge part of the fun, if you can get in.

Paris Fashion Week is, indeed, an over-the-top explosion of fun. It’s also serious business. Beyond the flashing bulbs of photographers, behind the scenes, styles are defined and the multi-billion dollar fashion industry is negotiated.

The Big 4, Culminating With Paris

Paris Fashion Week is part of the global “Big 4” of fashion weeks. The busy schedule for world fashion leaders starts in New York, followed by London, and then Milan.

The year of high-end fashion culminates in Paris.

Little wonder millions of tourists flock to the city each year to get their delightful fill of the very best in high-end fashion in Paris.

… and while it is true, the world of fashion is now global, a very special place is always reserved for Paris.

Paris is the peak event. For any fashion designer, to present their collection at Paris Fashion Week is the jewel in a career crown.

They all dream of that special Coco Chanel moment, attaining the heights of the world’s most famous fashion designers.

For fashion industry professionals, too, the simple (but ever so “impossible”) chance to go is gold.

Have you see the fabulous film, “The Devil Wears Prada”? Miranda Priestly’s assistant, Emily, expressed it well. Paris Fashion Week for her is like “the meaning of life”.

“Right, remember, you and I have totally different jobs.
I mean you get coffee. And you run errands. Yet I’m, and in charge of her schedule, her appointments and her expenses, and most importantly, I get to go with her to Paris for fashion week in the fall. I get to wear couture and go to all the shows and all the parties and meet all of the designers.
It’s divine!”
(Emily to Andrea, The Devil Wears Prada)

And divine it is!

Exclusive Access To The World of Fashion in Paris

During those stella moments, the eyes of world fashion are all on Paris.

Being there, apart of it all, is a true privilege for anyone switched on to the delights of fashion.

But procuring entry to any of the exclusive events is near on impossible.

Who wouldn’t want to go?

Top fashion journalists, photographers and, influential bloggers and vloggers, get special invites. Famous people, too. The very rich will find their way, of course. And Hollywood stars get the red carpet treatment, naturally.

For the general public, however, access is pretty much “not happening” … usually.

I say usually because, from time to time, there are ways. And lucky for you, we might be able to help you out with one of those ways.

This year, we’ll have access to a limited number of entries to certain Paris Fashion Week events.

Sound enticing?

Smacks of the irresistible?

We’ll let you know about access shortly.

If you love fashion … or simply adore a fabulous show … or want to feel the glamour and indulge in the finest things in life, come to Paris for its fashion.

Simply let us know you want to …
