On the heels of Heritage Days, and in concurrence with the Festival of Gastronomy, the Paris metropolitan region’s eighteenth annual Fête des Jardins — or Festival of Gardens — is wrapping up today.

It’s sometimes hard to believe there are so many festivals in Paris in a short window of time, but that is the joie de vivre of the city. If you’re landmarked-out from Heritage Days, or overdosed on French gastronomy, then you’re doing things right. The Festival of Gardens is another offer, and a nice way to wind down the eventful last weekend of summer.
Discover the parks and gardens of Paris
The theme of the eighteenth edition of the Festival of Gardens is wildflowers of Île-de-France, and the program includes guided tours, gardening workshops, games, concerts, and demonstrations suitable for every age and ability. Altogether a rich and varied program involving more than 150 locations of city green space — from riverside communities to private gardens to (shared) community gardens and more.
Personal guidance to secret botanical getaways

Wonderful Time has its own Parisian parks aficionado, Sylvie, who, through many city explorations of her own, has discovered several secret gardens and courtyards that are perfect for meditating, picnicking, taking photos, or proposing to a special someone…
These botanical gems are waiting for your discovery, and Sylvie would like to show you them. She proposes an exploration of a side of Paris that tourists rarely see, an escape into the secret gardens of Paris.
